I got such good advice that I decided to give 2 of these kits away.

I couldn't figure out how to put the Random.org generator on this post... so you'll just have to trust that I did this randomly, and with ALL fairness.

I deleted the first comment, by Sonya (because she later commented with advice) so Daisy Carpi was the first official post.

I used Random.org's generator, spanning from 1-29 and got the numbers: 24 and 10

MY FIRST GIVEAWAY!!!!!!

UPDATE: Please be aware that this giveaway is of an UNFINISHED roadside stand kit... not of the roadside stand that is completed in the pictures.

Okay... I know, I know... I haven't posted in a LONG time. To be truthful, I just got sidetracked by a million different little things.... I know you've NEVER done that ;)

Not much is going on. School just started and I'm already overwhelmed with homework. I have also, recently, taken up painting. As in... canvas, landscape painting. I won't bore you with my crummy first couple paintings, but I'm starting to like my new ones more and more... I'll post pics soon.

As promised (FOREVER ago), I am having my first giveaway. Now, it's not a huge deal like other giveaways are... but still a free prize all the same!

What I'm giving away is an unfinished roadside stand. This piece needs to be put together, but I don't want to do it for you, because I want you to do with it what you please.

An example of what I did with one of them is this:








Now, I didn't finish the wood (obviously)... but I think it turned out pretty good. So the possibilities are endless with this one.

Reflection...

In 12 days, I'll be 25... I'm not sure how I feel about that. As I count down to yet another birthday, I'm surrounded by the "where am I going?", "what am I doing?", "WHO AM I???" feelings of it all. Sometimes I feel like I'll never know those answers. Most of you who are older than me will say, "oh, you're still young, you have plenty of time left to figure all that out..." And while that may be true... it also may not be... I mean, how many of us know EXACTLY how much time we have left on this planet?

This very question got me thinking..... I have NO CLUE what I'm doing on this earth... but it's obvious to me that God isn't finished with me yet, otherwise I wouldn't still be here.

So I've decided that I CAN and WILL succeed at doing whatever it is that God wants me to do. Maybe I'm not the BEST mini maker... maybe I WON'T be a millionaire one day... but I'm me... and that's all I can be.

So, "HELLO 25 years, nice to meet ya... lets go for a ride!" :)

Creativity: Fail.

Okay, so I'm in a dry spell... I can't think of ANY new ideas for minis. I'm frazzled. So I am making a plea...

If ANY of you have any old dollhouse magazines that you don't need/want... send em my way! I don't even care if there are pages cut/missing! I just need some new ideas/outlooks. I have looked at the AIM online but I can't print anything, and I can't take it with me LOL.

All of your blogs are great inspiration, but I need to do something that makes ME say... "wow... I can do that!" I know that might sound weird, but if you've ever been in a creative slump, one thing you DON'T want is something nearly impossible to do.... that just makes things worse.

For those of you who are able to throw me some mags, I will send you some sort of miniature compensation, ie. miniature stuff, supplies, etc. I'm just looking for my spark again.

Still Alive

Okay, I know, I know.... 3 months since my last post... (Not that I wrote that often anyways).

Brief summary of the last 90 days....

Thanksgiving - ate way too much
Christmas - snowed WAY too much... got stuck in someone's yard Christmas day, had to have my dad pick us up for the family get together.
New Years Eve - Made resolution to lose weight starting with January 1st, 2010.
New Years Day - Gave up resolution when tempted with chocolate (te he he)

Tim and I decided to start trying to have a baby in November... but once January rolled around, I had a deep personal revelation: I'm not physically ready for that!

So we decided to hold off on trying to conceive and instead, decided to focus on losing the weight we so desperately need to lose.

We started counting calories on January 18th and as of Monday (Feb. 1st) I have lost 11.4 pounds and Tim has lost 6.8 pounds!!!!!!!

In between all of that, school has started back up, and I'm enjoying my classes.... For those of you (like me) that DON'T believe in coincidence, I realized that I signed up for 3 different Health/Nutrition classes. Funny, yes?

Other than that, I'm trying to make more minis and trying not to be EXTREMELY jealous at all of you that are more talented than me at the mini-making. (Also trying not to drool, LOL)

Anyways, just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm still alive, and I still read all of your blogs, almost daily.

Calling All Junk Collectors!

Hiya all! I have decided to make my big blue dollhouse (see pics in This Post) into an abandoned/haunted-ish house.... you know... the one all the neighborhood kids dare each other to go in... I think that there may be an old hag that lives there that might dabble in a little magic...

I have already started making some things for the house and painting the house, but I am in need of some old junk.

Okay, God showed up in a big way tonight. We've been struggling for a LONG time, and we've gotten depressed, angry, upset, and confused. Well tonight, we were relieved of some major stress. So thank you to all of those who prayed.
Just when we had given up, God showed up.

Father God,

Thank you for this wonderful day. Lord, I'm sorry for forgetting who You are. Help us to remember Your divine Wisdom. Lord, You know what is going on in all our lives, and You're in control. Help us to stay faithful to You, as You have to us.

The Storms of Life

Okay, I know I haven't posted in forever, but I just need to talk for a bit.

I ask that you take everything I have to say with a grain of salt, because I may (on accident) offend you, and if so, I'm sorry. None of these comments are directed at ANY of you. There again, I just need to talk.

Here goes:

I am SO tired of hearing about babies. My husband and I really want a baby but we can't have one right now. That pisses me off. I am tired of hearing about everyone's little bundles of joy and how great they are, when I can't have one. I know that may seem selfish and childish, but I don't care, this is just how I feel.
I'm jealous. Yes, you heard me, jealous. PAINFULLY jealous of people that get to have what they want.
I am tired of being ignored. I have feelings, a heart, AND a brain. I'm not some random nobody that you can just walk by and pretend you don't see me.
I want friends. I don't care how desperate that sounds. I'm strong enough to admit that I need people. I'm so tired of feeling alone.
Some of you may say, "Well, you're never alone with God" and that's absolutely true. But I believe that God put people here for other people. I want people! People that I can talk to, share with, cry with, watch movies with, whatever.
I will admit to wanting to be loved. I don't feel very loved by anyone other than my family and my hubby.
I am tired of letting my husband down. He says that I'm not, but I know that I am. I try to fix it and I come up short.
Right now, I am feeling very lost.
